Bear Creek Mining announced that in November of this year it will start the construction works of the Corani silver project in Puno, which has an estimated investment of US$ 625 million

The Canadian mining company informed that in November it will have a concrete definition for the start of the construction of the Corani silver project in Puno. The Vice President of Corporate Development, Andrés Franco Longhi, declared that this year the company will seek the obtaining the necessary licenses and permits and, if they have good results, in 2018 the company is expected to perform the corresponding investments in the project. Currently, the company is searching of partners in Canada and in the United States for the development of the project and to obtain the investment that it demands.

The project has an estimated investment of US$ 625 million and according to the corresponding technical studies, the mine will remain in production for 18 years, generating approximately 8 million ounces of silver per year.

Evans Avendaño, general manager of Aeropuertos del Perú, stated that the company plans to make investments for a total amount of U$$ 983 million approximately over the next 5 years, the most important of which will be at the airports of Chiclayo and Piura

The manager of Aeropuertos del Perú declared that the main investments that the company is currently considering will be used for the rehabilitation of the land tracks of the airports of Chiclayo and Piura, with an investment of US$ 50 million each, during the next 18 to 24 months. The tender for the execution of the construction works at the Piura airport will begin in September and it is expected that in the coming weeks a similar tender will be announced for the Chiclayo airport.

Avendaño also stated that among the most important projects that the company plans to execute is the construction of a new terminal in Chiclayo, the extension of the land track, the construction of a platform for commercial aviation and another for general aviation; projects with an estimated total investment of US$ 340 million. On the other hand, the company is evaluating a multi-year investment plan, which will includes the project for the expansion of the Iquitos terminal.

MONDAY 17

  • Evans Avendaño, general manager of Aeropuertos del Perú, stated that the company plans to make investments for a total amount of U$$ 983 million approximately over the next 5 years, the most important of which will be at the airports of Chiclayo and Piura (Gestión).

  • The International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) reported that it has concluded the formation of the arbitral tribunal that will analyze the demand of the concessionaire of the project "Line 2 of the Metro of Lima and Callao" against the Peruvian government regarding the delay in the delivery of the concession area (Gestión).

  • Lima Airport Partners reported that during the last quarter of 2017 it will deliver the environmental impact study corresponding to the expansion works of the Jorge Chávez Airport (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Energy and Mines reported that the possibility of including the proposal for a pipeline for gas liquids has not been discarded as part of the new tender of the project "Gasoducto Sur Peruano" (Gestión).

  • Pablo de la Flor, the executive director of the Reconstruction Authority, stated that by 2017 it is estimated the execution of projects for an amount between US$ 397 and US$ 458 million, mainly in prevention and rehabilitation works of infrastructure in areas affected by the "Niño Costero" natural phenomenon (Gestión).


SUNDAY 16

  • The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced an agreement with representatives of the Ayllopongo community for the acquisition of eleven hectares of land to be used in the construction of facilities of the project "International Airport of Chinchero" (Gestión).

  • Ositran issued a new favorable technical opinion regarding the seventh addendum to the concession agreement of the "Jorge Chávez International Airport", which includes the construction of a second runway and the expansion of the passenger’s terminal (Gestión).


SATURDAY 15

  • On Tuesday 18 July, ProInversión will auction two properties located in Lima, for a total amount of US$ 9'450,000 (Gestión).


FRIDAY 14

  • The Peruvian Government finished the concession agreement of the project International Airport of Chinchero", due to the lack of an agreement with the concessionaire Kuntur Wasi (Gestión).

  • CMS International Resources plans to develop a mineral processing or profit plant in Arequipa (Gestión).

  • COFIDE reported that it will contribute up to US$ 92 million in the financing of the project for the modernization of the port of Pisco (Gestión).

  • Consorcio Transmantaro plans to conclude in September the construction of the transmission line Mantaro - Montalvo of 500 Kv, with an investment estimated at US$ 450 million (Gestión).

  • ProInversión considers necessary the approval of a new legislative initiative pursuant to which, this entity would be in charge of the liberation of lands for the development of infrastructure projects (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Energy and Mines reported that the electricity interconnection project between Peru and Chile would take 72 months at most (Gestión).


THURSDAY 13

  • Parque Industrial La Chutana is evaluating the development of two industrial park projects in Piura and Arequipa for a total investment of US$ 15 million (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Agriculture announced that over 4,000 water infrastructure works will be executed during the reconstruction process in north of Peru (Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 12

  • The Ministry of Energy and Mines announced that, until 2021, about 18 copper projects will start operations in Peru (Gestión).

  • The executive director of the National Authority for the Reconstruction, Pablo de la Flor, reported that up to now, US$ 94.4 million will be allocated for reconstruction works in La Libertad (Gestión).


TUESDAY 11

  • Bear Creek Mining announced that in November of this year it will start the construction works of the Corani silver project in Puno, which has an estimated investment of US$ 625 million (Gestión).

  • Aeropuertos del Perú announced a public tender for the improvement of the land track system and perimeter fence for Piura’s airport, a project that will have an estimated investment of US$ 43.5 million. It expects the presentation of proposals and the verification of the documentation to occur in September (Gestión).
