SPOTLIGHT

ProInversión reported that it expects an investment of US$ 164 million in the development of the broadband installation projects for the integral connectivity and social development of the Junín, Puno, Moquegua and Tacna region

The government, through ProInversión, published on 16 September the call for special public bidding for the bidding of four (4) broadband installation projects for the integral connectivity and social development of the regions of Junin, Puno, Moquegua and Tanca, which will generate an estimated investment of US$ 164 million. Likewise, on September 13, ProInversión published the call for special public bidding for broadband installation projects for the integral connectivity and social development of the Amazonas, Lima and Ica regions.

These projects aim to increase access to telecommunication services in the districts of the regions mentioned above, through the expansion of broadband transport networks. ProInversión, through this tender will select the private operators who will be in charge of the execution of the projects, the provision of the services, as well as their operation and maintenance for a period of 10 years. To this end, they will receive a non-refundable financing by FITEl (the public Telecommunication Investment Fund).

The Ministry of Transport and Communications reported that 42 PPP projects have been identified, for a total of US$ 25 billion of investment, that are going to be prioritized

The Ministry of Transport and Communications reported that it has identified more than 42 infrastructure projects that would require an investment of more than US$ 25.7 billion and are expected to be awarded under the PPP scheme until 2021.

Among the largest projects identified are the "Barranca - Lima Commuter Train " with an investment of US$ 6,020 million, the "Lima and Callao Metro Line 3" with an estimated investment of US$ 5,930 million, "Line 4 of the Lima and Callao Metro "with an estimated investment of US$ 4,408 million, among others. Also included are projects in the road sectors, airports, port terminals and telecommunications, in different regions of the country.

  • The governments of Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil created a permanent technical secretariat to promote the development of the bioceanic train project that will connect Ilo (Moquegua) and the Brazilian port of Santos (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Agriculture reported that farmers in the Ica region are interested in investing in watershed projects in order to boost the water availability in the Ica valley (Gestión).

  • Fenix Power issued bonds for a total amount of US$ 340 million in the international market, in order to mitigate the financial debt it holds (Gestión).

  • The Peruvian government announced the investment of US$ 864 million in educational infrastructure and US$ 273 million in health infrastructure (Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 13

  • ProInversión published the call for special public bidding for the projects "Broadband installation for the integral connectivity and social development of the Amazonas, Lima and Ica region" (Gestión).


TUESDAY 12

  • The selling process of La Oroya metallurgical complex would be delayed due to changes in environmental standards, changes in the price of metals and trials that Doe Run Peru and its parent company are facing (Gestión).

  • SW Energias Limpias del Sur requested the Ministry of Energy and Mines a temporary generation concession for the development of the project "Central Solar Majes II" of 40 megawatts of power that is going to be located in Arequipa (Gestión).

  • The General Comptroller of the Republic will present to the Congress a law project that will allow the supervision of large projects since their formulation stage (Gestión).
