The company Interconexión Electrica S.A. E.S.P of Colombia was awarded the concession for the development of the 500 kv links and associated substations projects, called by ProInversión
The Colombian company Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. ESP (ISA) was awarded the concession for the "500 kV Link Mantaro-Nueva Yanango-Carapongo and Associated Substations" and "500 kV Link Nueva Yanango-Nueva Huánuco Link and Associated Substations" projects that will benefit the departments of Lima, Ancash, Junón , Huancavelica, Pasco and Huánuco. The project will provide greater reliability in the energy supply of the Huánuco region, as well as the transportation of more reliable energy to the Paragsha (Cerro de Pasco) and Yungas and Vizcarra (Ancash) substations.
The company offered a total investment amount for the two links of US$ 272'040,106 and a total cost of operation and maintenance of US$ 6'285,111, in a competitive process involving other 5 bidders (between companies and consortiums) who presented their corresponding economic offers. These companies included the consortium Terna Plus S.r.l - Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A, S.A.U. International Electricity Network, the consortium CSG-PowerChina, and Conelsur S.A.C.
The concession will be granted in the integral project contest modality; that is, the concessionaire will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the projects. At the end of the term of the concession, the projects will be transferred to the Peruvian State.
The term of the concession, counted from the execution of the concession contract, covers the construction period of 46 months plus 30 years of operation and maintenance of the links.
