The Peruvian Congress approved in its session on Thursday the law project that will incorporate modifications to the provisions established in Emergency Decree No. 003-2017, approved in February of this year, with the purpose of strengthening certain aspects related to the fight against corruption, as well as to extend the application of the aforementioned decree to Peruvian companies that have been partners of those involved in corruption cases in the country.

In this sense and according to the approved modifications, Emergency Decree N ° 003-2017 will be applied to companies that have admitted corruption offenses against the Peruvian state or that have been sentenced for it and, additionally, to companies that they have been associated with these in consortiums or partnerships with a participation of 5% or more, in the award of current concession agreements with the Peruvian state. In this way, these companies will not be able to transfer money out of the country until the payment of a determined civil compensation.
