The company Doe Run will deliver in the coming days the plan to restart operations in the metallurgical complex of La Oroya, which includes a budget of US$ 108 million and which will be resolved within a period of four months.
Currently, the company has 120,000 tons of zinc ferrite, of which it will sell 60,000 tons this month. With the funds obtained from the sale, the company will develop the future installation of a gas recirculation system for the complex's chimneys, a project that would take 6 months to develop.
The main objective of the plan is to improve the conditions of the metallurgical complex in order to attract more investors participating in the complex's auction process, which will take place in 2018.
Inland Energy, a company linked to Luz del Sur, is preparing the construction of two hydroelectric plants for US$ 695 million, which will be part of the electrical component of the "Majes - Siguas II" project
The company Inland Energy received the classification of the Senace needed to proceed with the construction of two hydroelectric power stations in the Arequipa region, in the Lluta district, which will be part of the electrical component of the Majes-Siguas II irrigation project. The estimated investment of both plants has been determined at US$ 695.1 million.
Inland Energy plans the construction of the Majes I hydroelectric plant of 293,35 MW and Majes II of 156.02 MW, as well as a 500KV transmission line of 44.07 kilometers. The construction of the first power plant is planned within a period of 52 months, while the second power plant would be built within a period of 48 months. The construction of the second plant will be subject to the expiration or waiver of concessions with previous concessionaires.
