SPOTLIGHT

Seven bidding processes commissioned to ProInversión, with a total estimated investment of US$ 1,578 million, have been postponed and will be awarded during 2018

By means of a new update of the schedule of concession processes in charge of the entity, ProInversión informed that 7 tender processes have been postponed and rescheduled for 2018.

Out of a total of 29 infrastructure projects that are currently in the portfolio managed by ProInversión (whose total investment reaches US$ 10,605 million), 7 projects with a total investment of US$ 1,500 million have being rescheduled regarding their award date by the government, largely due to the review of processes and the request to carry out new technical studies.

Among the postponed projects are "Main Works and Conduction of Drinkable Water Supply for Lima" that will be awarded during the second semester of 2018, "Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4" that will be awarded during the first semester of 2018, the "Huancayo - Huacavelica Rail Road" which will be awarded during the first half of 2018.

MONDAY 18

  • The Central Bank of Peru reported that as of November 2017, US$ 122 million has been invested in infrastructure works, within the framework of the national reconstruction plan (Gestión).

  • Jaime Blancio, General Manager of Ferrovías Central Andina, informed that the passenger transport project of the central railway, on the Lima - Chosica route, would take 2 years to implement and would require an investment of between US$ 25 and US$30 million (Gestión).
 

FRIDAY 15

  • The Executive Director of ProInversión, Alberto Ñecco, informed that the entity is implementing new policies for the hiring of technical advisers, in order to improve its promotion and execution capacities (Gestión).

  • Guild of companies of the port sector expressed their disagreement with the government’s project law to extend the concession term of ports to 60 years (Gestión).

THURSDAY 14

  •  Valoriza Conservación de Infraestructuras, a subsidiary of Sacyr, will sign a contract with the Peruvian government through which it will be responsible for the management and conversation of a 380 km road in the Tumbes and Piura regions (Gestión).

  • The Swiss government signed an agreement with the Bolivian government to provide technical advice for the execution of the "Bioceanic Train" megaproject between Brazil and Peru, which will require an estimated investment of US$ 15 billion (Gestión).

WEDNESDAY 13

  • China Fishery will seek a creditor’s agreement to extend its asset auction term until February 28, 2018, including assets located in Peru (Gestión).

  • Seven bidding processes commissioned to ProInversión, with a total estimated investment of US$ 1,578 million, have been postponed and will be awarded during 2018 (Gestión).

  • ProInversión announced that a total of 9 bidders submitted their offers in the two broadband bidding processes in different departments of the country, which will be awarded at the end of this month (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation reported that there are projects under the “works for taxes” scheme totaling US$ 400 million in the sanitation sector (Gestión).

TUESDAY 12

 

  • The Ministry of Economy and Finance reported that during 2018 US$ 336 million will be invested in six locations for the Panamerican Games Lima 2019 (Gestión).
