SPOTLIGHT

ProInversión informed that it is expected to award the project for the modernization of the port of Salaverry in April. Likewise, it is expected to award the project "Massification of Use of Natural Gas in the Southern Regions of Peru" during the first quarter of 2018

Alberto Ñecco, executive director of ProInversión, informed that after the mining project "Michiquillay" was awarded, the next big project that will be awarded by such entity will be "Head and Conduction Works of Drinkable Water for Lima", with an estimated investment of US$ 600 million, for which the state entity has hired the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank, as financial advisor. The project is expected to be awarded during 2019.

On the other hand, the public entity reported that it expects to award the project for the modernization of the Port of Salaverry towards the end of April, a process in which the Gilport Group (Turkey) and Tramarsa (Peru) are competing. Likewise, other important port project that is currently in the final stage of technical studies is the San Juan de Marco mineral concentrate terminal, which declaration of interest should be made during the second half of 2018.

Finally, regarding other important projects of the entity's portfolio, the executive director commented that the project "Huancayo – Huancavelica Railroad" is scheduled to be awarded in July of this year, while the project “Massification of the Use of Natural Gas in the Southern Regions of Peru” is expected to be awarded during the first quarter of 2018.

MONDAY 26

  • DP World reported that it expects to begin construction of stage 2 of the South Dock of the port of Callao by the end of 2018. Project will require an investment of US$ 200 million (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that the call for a new tender for the "Chinchero International Airport" project will be held during 2019 (Gestión).

  • Dirige S.A.C. announced the first call for public auction of the La Oroya metallurgical complex, with an initial value of US$ 95.1 million (and a total value of US $ 142.7 million), during the first days of March 2018 (Gestión).

  • ProInversión informed that it is expected to award the project for the modernization of the port of Salaverry in April. Likewise, it is expected to award the project "Massification of Use of Natural Gas in the Southern Regions of Peru" during the first quarter of 2018 (Gestión).


SUNDAY 25

  • The Ministry of Transport and Communications will allocate more than US$ 486 million for the reconstruction works of bridges and roads during 2018 (Gestión).


FRIDAY 23

  • The Ministry of Transport and Communications is analyzing strategies to improve the infrastructure of the Ilo port terminal, with the aim of converting it into a multipurpose terminal. The call for the development of technical studies will be held in April (Gestión).


THURSDAY 22

  • Hichschild reported the execution of an investment plan of US$ 135 million in silver mines in Peru and Argentina (Diaro Gestión).

  • The International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank, will advise ProInversión on the restructuring process and new promotion of the project "Heading and Conduction Works of Drinkable Water Supply for Lima" (Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 21

  • Southern Peru was awarded the concession for the development of the "Michiquillay" mining project, which will require an estimated investment of US$ 2 billion (Gestión).

  • ProInversión informed that in the next 30 days it will call for thetender process of the Colca and Jalaoca mining projects, in order to be awarded during 2019 (Gestión).

  • Aeropuertos del Perú announced the call for the maintenance of runways at the airports of Tarapoto and Tumbes, with estimated values of US$ 5 million and S/ 4.3 million, respectively. Concession will be held on April 25, 2018 (Gestión).


TUESDAY 20

  • The Australian company Strike Resources reported that it signed an understanding agreement with the Chinese company Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Group with the aim of developing the Hierro Apurimac mining project, which will require an estimated investment of US$ 2,300 million (Gestión).

  • The company Dirige S.A.C. announced the first call for the Public Auction of the Cobriza Mining Unit of Doe Run, to be held on March 1st. The conventional value of the mining unit is estimated at US$ 146.6 million, with a base price of US$ 97.7 million (Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Transport and Communications informed that it will use the legal and contractual mechanisms available to obtain the definitive annulment of the toll collection in the Ticlio section of the Carretera Central Highway (Gestión).
