SPOTLIGHT

The National Port Authority informed regarding different port projects for 2018

Édgar Patiño, president of the National Port Authority, informed that the port projects of a phosphate rock terminal in Piura and the private initiative for the development of the Port Terminal of San Juan de Marcona are the two main port projects for 2018.

Thus, the official explained that next May the construction works of the terminal in Piura will be initiated by the company Fosfatos del Pacífico (linked to Cementos Pacasmayo), a project that will require an investment of US $ 130 million and that will have a term of execution of 23 months. On the other hand, the state entity reported that it is expected that several Chinese investors present their interest for the development of the project "Port Terminal of San Juan de Marcona", which will require an investment of US $ 485 million. The declaration of interest of this project is estimated to be published during the second quarter of 2018.

MONDAY 19

  • Cosapi informed that it will participate in the following infrastructure projects: "Cabecera Marca II", "Anillo Vial Periférico", "Longitudinal de la Sierra Highway Section 4", "Huancayo Huancavelica Railroad", "Commuter Train" and "Line 3 of the Metro of Lima and Callao" (Semana Económica).

  • The Office of the General Comptroller of the Republic informed that in 60 days will begin the control over works of construction companies denounced for corruption (Gestión).


SUNDAY 18

  • The consortium formed by the companies Obrascon Huarte Lain and JE Construcciones Generales, was awarded the construction of the "Polideportivo de Villa El Salvador" project, part of the works of the Panamerican Games Lima 2019, which will require an investment of US$ 32 million (Semana Económica).


THURSDAY 15

  • The company Dirige, the administrator of Doe Run Peru, reported on a second call for the acquisition of the La Oroya metallurgical center, scheduled for March 22nd, with a base price of US$ 80.9 million (Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 14

  • Rutas de Lima reported the start of a dispute with Odebrecht regarding the works on the El Derby road exchange, part of the road concession "Rutas de Lima" (Gestión).


TUESDAY 13

  • The National Port Authority informed that next May the construction of the "Puerto de Fosfatos de Bayóvar" project will begin with an investment of US$ 130 million and will be in charge of the company Fosfatos del Pacífico. It also reported that it is expected that by the end of 2018 various Chinese investors will declare their interest in the project "Marcona Port Terminal", which will require an investment of US$ 485 million (Gestión).

  • Publication of a new law that replaces Urgent Decree No. 003-2017 that seeks to ensure the payment of civil damages in favor of the Peruvian State will make it impossible to sell the "Chaglla" hydroelectric project (Gestión).
