SPOTLIGHT

The "Special Hydroenergy Irrigation Project of the Alto Piura" began the preparation of preliminary studies for the construction of 4 new dams that will require an investment of US$ 300 million

 The general manager of the project, Marco Vargas, informed that preliminary studies have been initiated for the construction of 4 dams in the lower and upper Piura, which will allow to increase the irrigation areas. These new dams will receive water from the transfer tunnel that is currently under construction.

Likewise, the manager informed that they will request the congress for the approval of construction projects by law and as a public necessity, in order to have a budget assigned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The budget of the project currently allocated amounts to US$ 55 million, of which it already has US$ 90 million guarateed. They are currently waiting for the end of the rainy season to start work on one of the project's dams.

MONDAY 21

  • The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation informed about the government's legislative initiative that seeks to modify the contracting law with the state, in order to guarantee transparency in the bidding process of works (Gestión).


FRIDAY 18

  • Minsur reported on the beginning of the construction works of the "Mina Justa" project, which will require a total investment of US$ 1,500 million (Gestión).

  • The sale process of 30% of participation in the mining project "Quellaveco", in charge of Anglo American, would be defined in the next 2 months (Gestión).


THURSDAY 17

  • The "Special Hydroenergy Irrigation Project of the Alto Piura" began the preparation of preliminary studies for the construction of 4 new dams that will require an investment of US$ 300 million (Gestión).

  • The government reported that to date there are 3 prequalified bidders to participate in the bidding for the "Huancayo - Huancavelica Railroad" project, which would be tendered during the first quarter of 2019 (Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 16

  • The government reported that the budget for the execution of projects under the National Reconstruction Plan amounts to USS / 4,200 million for 2018. 346 works have been executed under the aforementioned plan (Gestión).


TUESDAY 15

  • Petroperú requested the construction and installation of a transmission line from the Pirañas substation to the wind-generation plant of the Talara refinery, a project that will require an investment of US$ 37.5 million (Gestión).

  • ProInversión initiated in Japan the Asian tour of promotion of investment projects in Peru for US$ 1,200 million (Gestión).
