SPOTLIGHT

The consortium formed by the companies Tramarsa and Naviera Tramarsa, of the Romero Group, was awarded the project of modernization of the Port of Salaverry

After 4 years since the last port concession (General San Martín terminal), ProInversión awarded on May 31 the project for the modernization of the Multipurpose Port Terminal of Salaverry to the consortium formed by the companies Tramarsa and Naviera Tramarsa, of the Romero Group.

During the bidding, the winning consortium competed with Notable Category S.A. firm of the Turkish group Yildirim, being the winner by offering as a competition factor a 10% discount on the rates of standard cargo services and special refrigeration service for containers.

The project includes the modernization of the existing infrastructure of the port terminal, to provide it with new infrastructure specialized in the movement of cargo in containers, increase the storage capacity of grains and also to transport minerals and cargo for agroexportation. Although the total estimated investment of the project is US$ 229 million, the corporate general manager of Tramarsa informed that the consortium is willing to make an additional investment, if necessary.

MONDAY 04

  • Abengoa Transmisión Norte acquired the generator of the Nuevo Imperial hydroelectric plant, with an installed capacity of 4 MW, located in Cañete (Gestión).

  • The concession agreement for the development of the Michiquillay mining project will be signed with the company Southern Copper before the first half of this month (Gestión).

  • Odebrecht reported that the sales contracts for the Chaglla hydroelectric project and the Olmos irrigation project have expired, as it is not possible to determine if the sale processes will continue in the future (Gestión).

  • GR Bayóvar S.A.C. presented an application for the construction of a wind farm in Piura, called "Central Eólica Emma", which will require an estimated investment of US$ 120.8 million (Gestión).

  • On July 15, the regional government of Arequipa expects the approval of the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the execution of addendum N° 13 of the irrigation project Majes Siguas II (Gestión).


FRIDAY 01

  • The consortium formed by the companies Tramarsa and Naviera Tramarsa, of the Romero Group, was awarded the project of modernization of the Port of Salaverry (Gestión).

  • Southern Copper reported that the construction of the "Tía María" project will not begin during 2018 due to the delay in obtaining the necessary permits. The project will require an estimated investment of US$ 1 400 million (Gestión).

  • ProInversión reported that to date 14 companies have expressed their interest in participating in the tender for the awarding of the Colca and Jalaoca mining projects. The award of the Colca project is scheduled for September 2018, while Jalaoca will be awarded in July of 2018 (Gestión).


THURSDAY 31

  • The Prime Minister, César Villanueva, announced the government's plans to tender a petrochemical plant project simultaneously with the tender of the project "Gasoducto Sur Peruano” (Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 30

  • Newmont reported that it is evaluating a plan to optimize the production of gold and copper sulfides at the Yanacocha mine, a project that would require an estimated investment of US$ 2 100 million (Gestión).

  • Barrick reported that it is evaluating the expansion of the "Lagunas Norte" gold mine starting in 2019, a project that will require an estimated investment of US$ 700 million (Gestión).


TUESDAY 29

  • PetroTal will install oil wells in Lot 95 (Loreto) with an estimated total investment of US$ 300 million (Gestión).
