Áreas de Práctica: Financiamiento de Proyectos

From Tuesday, December 11th to Monday, December 17th, 2018

SPOTLIGHT

Works of the “Line 2 of the Metro of Lima and Callao” project will be restarted during 2019

With the execution of the second addendum to the concession agreement of the project, the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the concessionaire company established a new work schedule, which will allow the completed project to be delivered by the year 2024.

Although the project was initially expected to be completed by 2020, its limited progress and the different obstacles encountered during the execution of the works have prevented its completion within the original schedule, so both parties decided to update the projects schedule and to modify different terms of its execution.

Likewise, the new works schedule will require updating the schedule for the acquisition and delivery of the necessary land for the project, which to date was suspended. The ministry informed that there is an advance of 87% in the acquisition of land and that such process will be restarted at the end of this month and will end during 2019.

Finally, another important issue of the addendum is the restructuring of the payment. Thus, the resources coming from the concessionaire for the construction of the work will be prioritized.
