From Monday, December 31st, 2018 to Monday, January 07th, 2019

SPOTLIGHT

Ministry of Transport and Communications (Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones) decided through a supreme decree that after a period of three months (counted from December 30, 2018) -based on the scope and complexity of the intervention needs- cofinanced initiatives may be submitted during a 30 business days window, on transport infrastructure projects.

The projects considered are:

  (i)  The Lima-Ica railway, which will take the Callao, Lima, Lurin, Chilca, Asia, Cañete, Chincha, Piso and Ica (323.7 km) routes, so that a planned investment of US$ 3,120 million will be available.

  (ii)  The concession of the third group of airports that includes Jauja, Huánuco, Jaén, Ilo, Nuevo Chimbote, Rioja, Tingo María and Yurimaguas.

Finally, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones) will send to the Proinversion, the information on the intervention needs and the budgetary capacity to finance the CPI (Diario Gestión).

MONDAY 07

  • The representative of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (Ministerio de Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones), among other things, affirmed that in 2018 the acquisition of more than 6,000 properties for road, rail and airport projects was achieved, for an amount of US$ 150 million (Diario Gestión).


FRIDAY 04

  • With the purpose of to increase the centers of renewable energy generation in Peru, the company GR Cortamarra S.A.C. belonging to the spanish group Grenergy Renovables, presented a request to develop a solar photovoltaic park in Matarani, for an investment of
    US$ 230 million (Diario Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 02

  • Ministry of Energy and Mines (Ministerio de Energía y Minas) estimated that the execution of six mining megaprojects like Quellaveco, Mina Justa and Toromocho will involve an investment of US$ 3,441 million (Diario Gestión).

  • Proinversión has scheduled the allocation of a portfolio of new projects for US $ 3,500 million. Among the most relevant initiatives are Headwaters and Driving Works for the Supply of Drinking Water for Lima, the Ancon Industrial Park and the Longitudinal of the Sierra road Section 4 (Diario Gestión).

  • After the start-up -during 2018- wind and solar generators Rubí and Wayra, on the part of Enel and the Intipampa solar development by Engie, now energy generation companies started their wind and solar developments for projects in the next 12 months (Diario Gestión).


MONDAY 31

 

  • Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo), reported that cable cars of San Cristóbal hill and Choquequirao Archaeological Park, located in Lima and Cusco, respectively, will be made through the public-private partnership (APP) modality. In the case of the Choquequirao Archaeological Park, the estimated amount of the investment will be US$ 60 million, and in the case of San Cristóbal Hill, the amount of the investment would be US$ 13 million (Diario Gestión).

  • Ministry of Transport and Communications (Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones) decided through a supreme decree that after a period of three months (counted from December 30, 2018) -based on the scope and complexity of the intervention needs- initiatives for 30 business days may be submitted, co-financed private entities (IPC) on transport infrastructure projects (Diario Gestión).  

  • National Port Authority (APN) indicated that 460 million dollars will be invested in works of three ports in the country, among them San Juan de Marcona, Lambayeque and Chimbote. The declarations of interest in Chimbote and Marcona will be defined for the second half of 2019 (Diario Gestión).

  • After four years of operations and an 80% advance in the hydroelectric plants “8 de Agosto” and “El Carmen”, in the Monzón Valley (Huánuco), the Spanish company Sacyr Construcción Perú left the post to GCZ Ingenieros in the construction of said projects (Diario Gestión).

  • Three major sanitation projects are expected to begin development next year, after having been awarded in 2018.

    The first initiative is located in the district of Chorrillos and was granted by US$ 128 million; the second project is a work located in annex 22 in Jicarmarca, in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, for US$ 85 millon; and finally, the third building work is in Carapongo, for a value of US$ 35 million (Diario Gestión).
