SPOTLIGHT

Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB) plans to enter the distribution business by presenting a public tender offer (OPA) by Dunas Energía.

Grupo Energia de Bogota (GEB) prepares its income for the distribution and sale of electricity, for which it will present a public tender offer (OPA) on the Lima Stock Exchange (Bolsa de Valores de Lima) for 100% of the shares of Dunas Energía S.A.A. (Diario Gestión).

This firm has 99.96% of the shares of Electro Dunas S.A.A., which distributes electricity in the Ica region and, partially, in Huancavelica and Ayacucho, serving approximately 240,000 customers.

The transaction will be carried out under an agreement between the Colombian group and Electro Dunas Cayman Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of Blue Water Worldwide (BWW), a private equity fund based in New York.

In addition, the GEB and PPC Cayman Holdings, another subsidiary of BWW, agreed to purchase 100% of PPC Peru Holdings S.R.L., also from GEB.

The three firms in acquisition make up the Electro Dunas group in Peru. The closing of the acquisition of the shares of Dunas Energía S.A.A. it will depend on the success of the public offer that will be presented to carry out the operation (Diario Gestión).

MONDAY 25

  • Interdexa, the subsidiary of the ISA Group of Colombia, plans to invest more than US$ 4 million in Peru in fiber optic projects (Diario Gestión).

  • The Ministry of Transport and Communications processing licenses of expasion works of the Jorge Chávez international airport (Diario Gestión).

  • The Bombardier, Aecon and Stadler companies are interested in the Lima-Ica train project, the presentation of proposals opens in April and closes in May (Diario Gestión).


FRIDAY 22

  • The Ministry of Energy and Mines reported that the southern gas pipeline Project would be awarded in 2022, and the work would be completed in July 2025 (Diario Gestión).


THURSDAY 21

  • Hochschild Mining investments are estimated between US$ 130 and US$ 140 million in its operations in Peru, due to additional developments in the Inmaculada project (Ayacucho), where access to new Millet and Divina veins has been obtained (Diario Gestión).

  • Red Eléctrica de España Group, with activities in Peru and Chile, has set a budget of 1,057 million Euros by 2022, 20% of which will be aimed at deploying new electric transport infrastructure (Diario Gestión).

  • Transportadora Callao S.A. obtained a US$ 61,38 million medium-term syndicated loan from Banco de Credito del Peru and Interbank for the repayment of a loan requested for the construction of a terminal in the port of Callao (Diario Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 20

  • The president of inPeru said that Peru hopes to attract investors from the United Kingdom for the train project from Lima to Ica and for the third group of regional airports (Diario Gestión).

TUESDAY 19

  • Brazilian miner Nexa Resources said that this year it expects a higher production of ore in the Cerro Linda (Ica) operation, based on the initiatives that the company is integrated into this mine (Diario Gestión).

  • Frontera Energy executive director, Richard Herbert, said the company will not withdraw from the project of Lot 192. Likewise, reported that the losses amount to US$ 10 million, in the more than 70 days that have paralyzed operations (Diario Gestión).

  • Minera PPX obtains permission for the Igor project, located in northern Peru (Diario Gestión).
