SPOTLIGHT

Proinversion convened an international public tender for the concession of three electricity transmission projects that will benefit the people of the regions of Tumbes, Piura, Huanuco and Ucayali.

These projects are “Enlace 500 kV La Niña-Piura, subestaciones, líneas y ampliaciones asociadas”; “Enlace 220 kV Pariñas-Nueva Tumbes, subestaciones y ampliaciones asociadas”; and, “Enlace 220 KV Tingo María-Aguaytia, subestaciones, líneas y ampliaciones asociadas”. Altogether, the three projects require an approximate investment of US $ 208 million, and it is expected to be awarded in the second semester of 2019.

It should be noted that the concession of these projects will be granted under the form of comprehensive projects to the bidder who offers the lowest total service cost, in order to design, finance, build, operate and maintain these projects. MONDAY 04

  • From August 2019, the Canadian Corporation Bear Creek Minining will begin the construction of the Corani silver project in Puno, which will have an investment of US $ 585 million (Diario Gestión).

  • The Minister of Agriculture indicated that, in case the Majes-Siguas II project requires more financing, the Peruvian State would support said financing (Diario Gestión).

  • The Mamacocha hydroelectric project, located in Arequipa, has been stopped due to the initiation of two arbitration proceedings between the company in charge of the initiative and the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Diario Gestión).


FRIDAY 01

  • The Peruvian State counterclaims for US $ 700 million to the concessionary company of Metro Line 2 of Lima, for socio-economic and environmental damages caused by the delay of the project (Diario Gestión).

  • The Peruvian Government will probably grant to the Southern Cooper Corporation a construction license for Tia Maria project of US$ 1,400 million, before the environmental permit for that project ends in August of this year (Diario Gestión).

  • The Minister of Energy and Mines indicated that the construction of silver mining project Corani, located in Puno region and which will require an investment of US$ 585 million, is a priority initiative for the government (Diario Gestión).


THURSDAY 28

  • Aeropuertos del Peru (AdP), a company of the Sandoval Group, will invest US$ 25 million in the preparation of the technical file and the start of rehabilitation works for the Pisco International Airport (Diario Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 27

  • Camisea Consortium announced the start of the "Natural Gas for vehicular use to the Cusco Region" project, investing
    US$ 2 million for the implementation of gasocenters (Diario Gestión).


TUESDAY 26

  • In March, Sempra Energy will begin the formal sale process of its participation in its South American business, where it has an indirect participation in Luz del Sur (83.6%) and Chilquinita Energía S.A. (Chile) (Diario Gestión).

  • The Minister of Economy indicated that the portfolio of investment projects of Peru, for the period 2019-2022, exceeds US $ 10,000 million (Diario Gestión).

  • Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde plans to expand the copper mine in Arequipa, in order to reach a maximum capacity of 409,500 daily tons of ore (Diario Gestión).

  • Shoungang Hierro Peru will begin in March a new commercial production of iron products, stage that is the final part of the expansion phase promoted in Marcona (Ica) four and a half years ago (Diario Gestión).

  • Kallpa Generación requested the Ministry of Energy and Mines to classify a temporary generation concession for a solar central project called Sunny Solar Plant in Arequipa (Diario Gestión).
