SPOTLIGHT

Representatives of Alto Piura irrigation Project (Pei-hap) disclosed that the bidding process will begin in September, in order to hire the new operator in charge of the transfer tunnel, located in Huancabamba (Piura) (Diario Gestión).

MONDAY 25

  • The company Bow Power, belonging to the Spanish company ACS, plans to invest US$ 187 million in the construction of the wind project Marcona, located in Ica (Diario Gestión).

  • The Canadian mining Company Sierra Metals suspended its activities after the start of a strike at the Tauricocha mine (Diario Gestión).

  • As indicated by the legal representative of the Transandino S.A. (Fretansa), the Company does not look for signing the sixth addendum of the concession contract of the railroad from Cusco to Machupicchu (Diario Gestión).

  • The Viceminister of Hydrocarbons, Eduardo Guevara, has declared that the new gas pipeline project will include a reach that ensure gas for Lima (Diario Gestión).

  • In the coming months, ProInversion will finalize the proposal for the modernization of the Eten port terminal. Regarding this, the government will have to decide between the private or state initiative (Diario Gestión).

  • The new President of the Board of Directors of Sedapal, Francisco Dumler, is in favor of private participation (Diario Gestión).

  • PROMIGAS will invest US$ 300 million in Peru in the coming years (Diario Gestión).


THURSDAY 21

  • GeoPark Ltd plans to invest US$ 95 to US$ 105 million this year in lot 64 (north of Loreto) if the Environmental Impact Study is approved by Senace (Diario Gestión).                                                       

  • Buenaventura Mining Company stated that the Quecher Main gold project (Cajamarca), an initiative operated by the Yanacocha Mining Company, will start commercial production later this year (Diario Gestión).

  • GyM, subsidiary of Graña y Montero, was awarded by Anglo American for the construction of the Quellaveco Project Concentrator Plant for a consideration equivalent to US$ 317.9 million plus VAT (Diario Gestión).


WEDNESDAY 20

  • The Ministry of Energy and Mines approved the assignment by Karoon Energy International of a 35% interest in the license agreement for exploitation and exploitation in lot Z-38, in favor of Tullow Peru Limited (Diario Gestión).


TUESDAY 19

  • Energy Group would resume works in lot XXIII located in Tumbes in April, investing approximately US$ 20 million (Diario Gestión).

  • Sacyr, through its Engineering and Infrastructure division, will be responsible for the preparation of the technical file and the construction of 205 km of highway in Ancash, for more than US$ 45 million (Diario Gestión).
