SPOTLIGHT

Interested parties in participating in the Huancayo-Huancavelica rail Project, also known as Tren Macho, can present their credentials for prequalification until the third quarter of this year.

It should be noted that the Railway Project will require approximately US$ 226 million and the award is scheduled for the second semester of 2019 (Diario Gestion).

MONDAY 01

  • Kallpa Generación S.A. plans to develop a hydroelectric plant in the Apurimac river, which it would have an investment of US$ 932.5 million (Diario Gestion).

  • The municipal council of Sicaya approved the creation of an airport zone in that district, which opened the possibility to have an air terminal in Huancayo (Diario Gestion).

  • The restart of the works of Majes-Siguas II Project still has to wait two more months to complete the proposal to allow the technological change in the irrigation project, which it means an additional of US$ 107 million (Diario Gestion).


FRIDAY 29

  • Patio Comercial, one of the divisions of the Patio Chile Group, with a presence in Peru through Algeciras, made an inaugural bond placement for US$ 81 million in its country, which could be replicated in Peru (Diario Gestion).


THURSDAY 28

  • ISA REP estimates for this year an investment of US$ 100 million in the expansion of several transmission lines (Diario Gestion).

  • The offer of Quimpac Corp for US$ 53.5 million was approved as a capital contribution for Graña y Montero (Diario Gestion).

  • The Comptroller's Office reported that it detected an economic loss of more than US$ 6.1 million and US$ 80 million in the concession contract of the Paita Port Terminal, due to the alleged breach of contractual obligations and the regulation of the National Port System. (Diario Gestion).

  • The Urban Transport Authority of Lima and Callao (ATU) will assume the plan currently developed by the Autonomous Authority of the Electric Train to determine the final design of the new Lima Metro lines (Diario Gestion).


WEDNESDAY 27

  • Enel Green Power is studying new wind and solar prospects in Lambayeque and Piura (Diario Gestion).

  • Andean Airports of Peru (consortium of Andino Investment Holding and Corporación América) launched an international public tender to select a bidder responsible for carrying out a study of preinvestment for the Arequipa air terminal (Diario Gestión).


TUESDAY 26

  • Lima Airport Partners will invest US$ 250 million in expanding and enabling the lands of Jorge Chávez Airport in Lima (Diario Gestion).

  • Metalindustrial plans to build this year a company specialized in the manufacture of roadways (metal containment barriers) for roads and tracks (Diario Gestion).

  • Canada, Korea and Turkey would have presented their proposals to Peru to build the Chinchero international airport Project (Diario Gestion).

  • Electricity production, including the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) as well as isolated systems, reached 4,503 gigawatts per hour in February, which meant a growth of 5.9% compared to the same month of 2018 (Diario Gestion).
