Perupetro foresees the signing of four hydrocarbons contracts

At the end of 2019, Perupetro plans to sign four new contracts for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in different areas of the country.

Also, the president of Perupetro indicated that it is seeking to achieve an investment of US$ 550 millions in the hydrocarbons sector for this year.


  • In the period 2014-2018, the agroindustrial companies installed by Olmos Tinajones Special Project, located in Lambayeque, invested more than US$ 750 millions.

  • The construction company Graña y Montero would be willing to sell the Vía Expresa Sur concession, in order to quit from the concession contract.

  • Mining Company Cerro Verde presented its fourth technical report supporting the modification of the environmental and social impact study of the expansion of Cerro Verde production unit.


  • The vice minister of Hydrocarbons, Eduardo Guevara, indicated that it seeks to concretize the South Gas pipeline project, in order to achieve the 1.5 millions households who will be benefited with natural gas.

  • Southern Copper plans to become one of the three largest world copper producers in 2026.

  • The president of COES proposes to prioritize the construction of hydroelectric plants in Loreto, in order to provide more energy to this region.


  • The Southern Copper manager indicated that the company is waiting the respective permit to execute the Tía María copper project.

  • In 2020, Petrotal plans to start drilling in lot 107 (Pasco-Huánuco), estimating an investment of US$ 35 millions.


  • According to the vice minister of communications, before November, the Project of the regional fiber optic for Cajamarca, Piura and Tumbes would be re-tendered.
