In July, Perupetro calls for tender lot 201 in Ucayli

Perupetro, in charge of the promotion of investments in the hydrocarbons sector, informed Gestión that this month it will bid for the award of lot 201, located in Ucayali. As part of its progress on the first quarter, the government agency said that the preparation of the bidding rules for lot 201 was underway.

It also reported that the deadline of 60 calendar days that was set for the negotiation of the contract to deliver the operation of lot 192 to Petroperu expires on August 15, which is counted from last June 17.


  • Concessionaire Aeropuertos del Perú (AdP), plans to invest between US$ 320 million in the rehabilitation of runways of up to nine air terminals that the concessionaire has in the north and center of the country (Diario Gestion).

  • Perupetro, in charge of the promotion of investments in the hydrocarbons sector, informed that this month the lot 201 would be awarded, located in the Ucayali basin (Diario Gestion).

  • Termochilca confirmed that the AEF Group formed by Americas Energy Fund I, Fondo Larraín Vial Energético FI and Fondo de Capital Privado Compartimiento A intends to overcome 50.56% of the participation, which is in the initial stage and is estimated to end 2020 (Diario Gestion).


  • The mining company Nexa Resources specified that the Magistral copper project (Ancash) will become the next mining unit under development in Peru, which will have an investment of US$ 480 million (Diario Gestion).

  • The South Korean consortium led by Korea Airport Corps (KAC) won an agreement for US$ 30 million to supervise and manage the construction of the Chinchero international airport in Cusco (Diario Gestion).

  • As of 2021, a new mining investment cycle would begin thanks to seven projects that will begin construction after 2021 for US$ 7,600 million. Some projects are Chancas, San Gabriel and Trapiche (Diario Gestion).


  • The Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Peru consortium announced that, at the latest in July, it will submit an addendum to Proinversión to specify the increase of its investment in the construction of the port of Chancay, from US$ 447 million to US$ 1,170 million of investment  (Diario Gestion).

  • The mining company Marcobre pointed out that in the last quarter of 2020 the production of the Mina Justa copper project (Ica) will begin, which would have a total investment of US$ 1,600 million  (Diario Gestion).

  • Senace plans to receive studies of mining projects for US$ 9,428 million, among which would be the projects of Romina 2 for US$ 1.5 million, Los Chancas for US$ 2.5 million, Salipayco for US$ 5 million, among others  (Diario Gestion).

  • Bolivia would begin to export Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to Peru in no more than 20 days, in the border areas located in Puno. This will cause the price to be reduced by 30% in the Peruvian market  (Diario Gestion).

  • The executive chairman of Senace, indicated in Minpro 2019 that, to date, they have 25 mining projects to be evaluated for a total investment amount of US$ 12,606 million corresponding to detailed environmental impact studies (EIA-d) and modifications to the study of environmental impact (MEIA) (Diario Gestion).

  • For the remainder of 2019, Proinversión plans to award the Huancayo - Huancavelica railroad and natural gas massification projects in five regions. Likewise, it has been confirmed that the peripheral road ring of Metropolitan and Longitudinal of the Sierra road Section 4   (Diario Gestion).


  • Supreme Decree N ° 015-2019, which modifies the procedures to obtain the land use rights, could jeopardise the development of the iron- one Project Pampa del Pongo, because the right to grant an easement for "protection lands" is restricted through the aforementioned regulation (Diario Gestion).


  • SENACE estimated that Terminales Portuarios Chancay (TPCh) could present to this entity the modification of the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) for the expansion of the projected port of Chancay in the third quarter of this year (Diario Gestion).

  • Petroperu submitted a request to SENACE to modify and relocate a hydrogen production and purification plant, all within the modernization Project of the Talara refinery (Piura). The cost of the requested infrastructure is US$ 35.7 million (Diario Gestion).

  • Sacyr, through Sacyr Insutrial and Sacyr Ingeniería e Infraestructuras, in consortium with Ajani, will be in charge of the works of the Quellaveco Project, since August of this year (Diario Gestion).

  • The explorer Chakana Copper starts a new phase of drilling in the prospect of copper, gold and silver of the mining company Soledad in Áncash (Diario Gestion).

  • The Chamber of Commerce of Mollendo indicated that if the MINEM does not grant a license to the Tia María Project, it will be paralyzed and it could generate the exploitation of the area by informal miners (Diario Gestion).
