Bear Creek expects the construction of the Corani mining project, located in Puno, to start in 2018 and to be fully operational in 2021. The project will require an investment of US$ 500 million
The Vice President of Corporate Development of the mining company, Andrés Franco, declared that the construction of the Corani silver mine is expected to begin during 2018, aiming to be operational by 2021 at the latest.
The Corani project, located over 4,500 meters above sea level and close to the limit with Cusco, will require an investment that will range between US$ 500 and US$ 700 million. The construction of the infrastructure required for the open pit will involve a workforce of 1,500 and 2,000. This will be the largest mining investment to be made in the Puno region.
The "Amazon Waterway" project, with an estimated investment of US$ 95 million, received proposals from three bidders: Consorcio Hidrovías II, Jan De Nul N.V and China Communications Construction Co.
On June 28th, ProInversión held the ceremony for the presentation of envelopes 2 and 3 (technical proposal and economic proposal, respectively) of the bidding process of the project "Amazon Waterway". According to the project’s calendar published by ProInversión, this week the project should be awarded.
The three bidders that are participating in the tender are: Consorcio Hidrovías II (consisting of the companies Sinohydro Corporation LTD and Construcción y Administración S.A.), Jan De Nul N.V and China Communications Construction Co.
The project will require an investment of US$ 95 million and aims to improve the navigability of the Huallaga, Marañón, Ucayali and Amazonas rivers, develop freight and passenger transportation and boost regional, national and international trade. The term of the concession will be of 20–year–period.
