DP World would sign at the end of the year or early 2020 addendum for Muelle Sur. The addendum for the expansion of the Muelle Sur terminal, concession by DP World Callao, would be expected to be signed next December or early January 2020, revealed the National Port Authority. The firm will expand the pier by an additional 310 meters, from 650 meters to 960 meters, the investment is estimated at US $ 300 million. The expansion also includes expanding support areas. The South Pier has a capacity of 15 to 30 hectares. With the addendum, a 30-hectare backup will be generated, corresponding to its container yard. Once built, its quay capacity will be increased by 1.2 million TEUs (20-inch containers) to almost two million TEU per year.   (Diario Gestión).

 

MONDAY 25

  • The president of the board of directors of Zona Franca de Tacna, Aldo Fuster, considers the concession of the Tacna-Arica railway is important to take advantage of tourism to that city. Currently, the railway is managed by the Regional Government of Tacna (Diario Gestión).
  • The next sale of the Cobriza mine, which will be separated from the La Oroya metallurgical complex, has aroused the interest of 12 bidders (Diario Gestión).
FRIDAY 22
  • Petroperu will offer oil from the Talara area for the first time to the foreign market. According to information from Bloomberg, the company will offer on November 26 two shipments of 300,000 liquid barrels that will depart from Talara in January 2020 (Diario Gestion).
THURSDAY 21
  • Teck Resources Ltd. has hired the US bank Barclays to sell its 80% stake in its Zafranal copper asset in Peru (Diario Gestion).
  • Australian junior explorer AusQuest Limited began drilling in the Cerro de Fierro copper prospect (Arequipa), which is in partnership with South32 (Diario Gestion).
WEDNESDAY 20
  • Graña and Montero Petrolera, through Terminales del Peru, a consortium formed by GMP and Oiltanking Peru, obtained financing from the Banco de Credito del Peru for up to US$ 23’000,000.00 (Diario Gestion).
  • The PetroTal board plans to disburse an additional US$ 19 million in investments during this 2019. Around US$ 14 million will be used to drill and complete a second horizontal well of the company (5-H), and another US$ 5 million to bring additional production facilities to the field by mid-2020 (Diario Gestion).
TUESDAY 19
  • Minsur company (part of the Breca Group) estimates that by the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021 it will carry out the production of the Mina Justa (Ica) copper project, which has an investment of US$ 1.6 billion (Diario Gestion).
  • Odebrecht, current concessionaire of the Irrigation of Olmos I, is willing to participate in the second stage of Olmos after feasibility study (Diario Gestion).
