LAP will award works in August
Jorge Chávez airport concessionaire LAP has scheduled the construction of the terminal’s second runway for August this year, according to Transport Minister Carlos Estremadoyro.
After inspecting the installation of the foundations of the future control tower that the airport will have in its integral redesign, the holder of the MTC indicated that the second runway will have a length of 3,480 meters, and its construction should be completed in 2022.
Work on the control tower (by the Wayra consortium) should be completed in 2021. The new tower will cover the flight operations of the current runway as well as the future runway once it is completed.
