LAP will award works in August
Jorge Chávez airport concessionaire LAP has scheduled the construction of the terminal’s second runway for August this year, according to Transport Minister Carlos Estremadoyro.
After inspecting the installation of the foundations of the future control tower that the airport will have in its integral redesign, the holder of the MTC indicated that the second runway will have a length of 3,480 meters, and its construction should be completed in 2022.
Work on the control tower (by the Wayra consortium) should be completed in 2021. The new tower will cover the flight operations of the current runway as well as the future runway once it is completed.

  • The Peruvian company Park Office has been developing a new yacht club south of Lima called San Marino Condominio & Marina Club. The project, which comprises 38 hectares and will house 109 houses, 88 apartments, among others, will mean an investment of US$ 50 million. The work will be completed in July 2022.

FRIDAY 24 / 07
  • LAP will award in August the construction of a second landing strip in Jorge Chávez.
  • Ferreycorp and its subsidiaries closed a private placement of international bonds for US$ 90 million, with the American insurance company Prudencial, through its PGIM division.
  • Bosques Amazónicos (BAM), placed commercial papers with a term of 360 days and a rate of 8% for an amount of US$ 1.1 million.

THURSDAY 23 / 07

  • Through its mining partners, Proyectos La Patagonia (PLP), the Canadian PPX Mining Corp resumed mining operations at Mina Callanquitas, in the Igor gold project (La Libertad).
  • The company Bosques Amazónicos (BAM) will carry out the first placement of green commercial papers in the Alternative Market of the Lima Stock Exchange (MAV).
  • Chile’s Antofagasta, one of the world’s largest copper producers, maintained its production and cost targets for the year, despite reporting lower extraction in the second quarter. Copper production between April and June decreased 8.4%.
  • Chavimochic III will be downgraded from the Ministry of Agriculture. The work, which has been paralyzed for four years, includes the completion of the Palo Redondo dam and the construction of a 134-kilometer canal and will conduct the water collected from the Santa river.

WEDNESDAY 22 / 07

  • Grupo Enel has committed to a series of measures in Peru aimed at strengthening its financial situation and reinforcing its strategic operations in the country. Consequently, it is committed to energy transformation and to completing investments planned for 2020. It expects to close this year with more than US$ 130 million invested.
  • The company Bosques Amazónicos (BAM) will carry out the first placement of green commercial papers in the Alternative Market of the Lima Stock Exchange (MAV) for an amount of US$ 3.5 million and a term of 360 days.
  • Andean Power Generation received a US$27 million loan. Part of the loan will be used to repay a loan in Peru.

TUESDAY 21 / 06

  • Southern Perú Copper Corporation awarded the construction company JJC the project “Multidisciplinary Works for the Expansion of Quebrada Honda Tailings Dam”. The contract amount is of the order of US$ 70 million, including IGV, and will be executed in the Toquepala mining unit.
